About Us

We are an animal welfare, education, and rescue organization solely run by a group of volunteers who are dedicated to our mission of helping abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in Stanislaus County. We are not associated with any local, state, or national based organizations - we are specific to Stanislaus County ran by Stanislaus County residents.

So far for the 2017/2018 fiscal year we have rescued 380 animals - 269 cats, 110 dogs, and 1 rabbit - that have become our legal and financial responsibility. Of the animals we have rescued 72% have come from the largest shelter in the county, Stanislaus Animal Services Agency. We know that for every animal we rescue from a shelter, we are actually saving two lives - the one we are rescuing and the life of next stray animal to enter the shelter.

Our Animals

Our animals health and well-being is our number one priority. All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, and have age-appropriate vaccines. All our cats are FELV/FIV tested and all of dogs receive flu vaccinations. If any animal shows signs of illness they receive veterinary care by various licensed veterinarians throughout the county, including but not limited to Turlock Spay & Neuter, Yosemite Veterinary, Salida Veterinary Hospital, Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Our year to date medical costs as of June 15th has reached just over $44,600 with four more months to go.

Our Veterinarians have expressed the need to keep food consistent from going from a foster home to their new home when adopted, therefore we feed all HSSC animals Authority dog and cat food. A free bag is given to each adopter by Petsmart when they adopt an animal from us at the Sisk Road location. So far this year we have had over $6,700 in food costs for our animals.

How we help the Stanislaus Community

Part of our mission is community outreach, we give back to our community in several different ways!

We have assisted 40 animals through our Rehoming Assistance Program - this is for people who either own animals or found strays then went through the steps for the animal to become legally theirs, then assisted these animals through our adoption program.

This year through our Pet Food Pantry we have been able to donate over 10,000 lbs. of food to people that have cats/ dogs in conjunction with programs such as Church in the Park, Haven Women's Center-Stanislaus, United Samaritans and the Turlock Gospel Mission.

We have just started our 3rd annual “Vaccinations in the Park” spring/summer clinic; we vaccinate over 50 dogs belonging to low-income and homeless families each year.

In 2018 we introduced Free Microchip Days and Spay Yo Momma Program. Thanks to Gallo Glass’ microchip donation we were able to microchip 72 animals! Through the “Spay Yo Momma” program we have spayed 5 family pets, along with taking on the responsibility of 31 kittens and 4 puppies that went through our adoption program.
